Démarche
Avec ses propositions Andre Mordant offre au public des œuvres, « des partitions-installations », associant matières et concepts sur les axes suivants :
- La production de sens/non-sens à partir d’évènements marquants
- L’analyse des mécanismes mentaux liés aux religions, idéologies, systèmes institutionnels de décision …
- La verticalité et l’horizontalité
- Traces, Indices, Symboles et Signes
- L’enflure du dérisoire
Le déclencheur, l’Idée à l’origine de la nécessité d’engager un processus de création hors de toute commande, peut être :
- un mot prononcé le 11 septembre à New York par une passante de Manhattan,
- une valeur mesurée à la centrale de Tchernobyl,
- une Fatwa contre un écrivain,
- une séquence de musique dont l’exécution fut exceptionnelle,
- un concept culturel insolite,
- l’unique trait de pinceau de Shitao
- l’indignation de Bronislaw Geremeck en 2008 contre le manque de symboles dans les projets actuels de construction de l’Europe Unie,
- … etc.
In his works, the artist Andre Mordant proposes “partitions”, associating materials and concepts on the following ways:
- Production of sense/nonsense based on events – “Events driven Art”
- Analysis of mental constructions at the origin of the rites and behaviours (religions, ideologies, systems institutional, philosophical and cultural…)
- The relation in the center of works – associating “Art is within relation”: meaning, traces, symbols and signs.
The idea at the beginning of an absolute necessity for starting a creative process without of any order, can be a word said on 11 September in New York, a number associated to the nuclear power plant of Tchernobyl, a Fatwa, the feeling got from a sequence of an exceptional execution of music, a strange cultural concept, the indignation of Bronislaw Geremeck in 2008 against the lack of symbols in the current projects of construction of United Europe …etc.
Pieces of music accompanied the achievements of his works, they impressed those works which can often be imagined as partitions. Sound environments especially created by him can be integrated to the exposed art sets.
